Internet security is on everyone’s mind these days. As a parent or an employer, you will sometimes want to block specific sites or types of content. Internet Explorer 7 gives you some tools to do this without spending money on costly security software.

1. Click the Tools button on the Command Bar.
2. Select Internet Options from the resulting menu.
3. Click on the Content tab.
4. Click the Enable button.
5. Do any of the following:
   • To block specific types of content, select the content category and drag the slider to specify what users can access.
   • To block or allow specific sites, click on the Approved Sites tab. Enter the Web site address in the Allow this website box and click the Always or Never button.
6. Enter a password in the Password box.
7. Reenter the password in the Confirm password box.
8. Click the OK button to close all remaining open dialog boxes.
